INTRODUCTION

Presence Asia is a company specialized in Product Development, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing in China. Our mission is to help companies to turn ideas into manufacturable product in short time so they can distribute their products on their market at light speed while staying ahead the competition. Strategically located in China, its base allow its ressources to quickly move in mainland China to source, audit and meet local suppliers so supply chain related operations can be managed efficiently. Presence Asia was established in China to help Western companies design and manufacture quality products in the Great China region. Early on, we knew the importance of being price competitive without fading quality. Quickly, we have realized that the only way to truly leverage Asian manufacturing was to design and develop products in China by leveraging the local ecosystem of components suppliers. Like most of western companies, we started by sourcing and purchasing finished products from chinese manufacturers. Quickly we realized the importance of controlling tightly the supply chain related to components procurement and the importance to fully immerge ourselves into manufacturing process so we could fully assist our manufacturers to solve problems they were not capable to solve themselves. This is at this time that our engineering skills came into place and revealed their usefullness…

OUR COMPANY HISTORY

2009 Presence Asia was created by engineers having Master Degree in Engineering, Master in Business Administration, Six Sigma Green Belt certification, Quality Engineering certification by the American Society of Quality and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification. The company too the form of a sourcing company in charge of helping companies and organizations to identify chinese suppliers capable to answers project request. Most of activities were related to supplier identification, vendor audit and reporting; 2010 Presence Asia extend its activities to supply chain construction for its client. The company become a buying agency in charge of managing the whole sourcing and procurement flow form A to Z from their client including sourcing, vendor audit, contracting, vendor coaching and briefing, production monitoring and follow up, quality inspection, lab testing management and logistic. 2012 Presence Asia extend its activities to product development and adaption in cooperation with chinese manufacturers. Whereas previously oriented in buying OEM products, now the company extend its activities in developping and launching manufacturing of new products by leveraging local manufacturers skills, capabilities, human ressources and infrastructures.  Particularly, activities include product development and manufacturing with plastic, metal, and electronic manufacturers. 2013 Presence Asia discovering that most of manufacturer don’t perform engineering themselves by most of them sub-contracting this crucial and stratefic activity, the company embrace the engineering ecosystem and perform product development with local engineering companies, then push those engineering to manufacturer. The control of the supply chain is reinforced and project better managed. 2014 Because chinese business model of engineering companies doens’t allow to control enough the source of engineering, Presence Asia decide to integrate in-house the product development activity by internalizing mechanical design, pcb design and firmware coding. Engineering is now perform in-house and allow to have full control on the bill of material of all new project being developped 2015 Presence Asia set up a micro production line aiming to get product final assembly of small electronics under its own roof, allowing it control quality, intellectual property and speed delivery.
